Advanced Diver Certification Program

Program:
This program is for those who are interested in continuing their diver training, through supervised experiences designed to introduce divers to a variety of diving activities. It is taught mostly in the open water from our dive boat. The course consists of 6 dives with a variety of activities. Certification is available through NAUI or PADI.

Course Objective:
To develop a safe, effective and confident diver able to handle most situations underwater and on the surface. Training options include deep diving, advanced underwater navigation, skill development, dive planning, night diving, u/w photo, u/w video, search and recovery, hunting and collecting, emergencies, rescues and first aid.

Course Pre-requisites:
- at least 16 years of age
- junior certification for 12-15 year olds is available
- Scuba Diver certification, comfortable in the water
- good physical condition
- suitable equipment for open water diving (all equipment available as rental)
- current logbook

Course Cost and Duration:
The cost of the program is $195.00 and takes two days to complete. The boat trips and student equipment is not included in the cost of the program.

Equipment Provided by the Student:
(Most equipment is available as rental from the training facility) Tanks, Regulator with Alternative Air Source, Buoyancy Compensator with Power Inflator, Weight Belt, Wet Suit/Jacket/Shorty, as appropriate, Depth and Pressure Gauge, Compass, Timing Device, Underwater Slate, Gloves, Log Book, Mask, Fins, Snorkel, Booties, Bathing Suit and Towels.

Optional Equipment:
Dive Knife, Dive Hood, Dive Light, First Aid kit, Save a Dive Kit, spare L.P. Hose, spare H.P. Hose.

Special Equipment for Special Activities:
Legal Dive Flag, U/W Camera, Speargun, lobster Gauge, Tickle Stick, Metal Detector, U/W Video.

Dive #1 - Skill development, ascents and rescues*
Dive #2 - Underwater Navigation*
Dive #3 - Night or Low Viability dive*
Dive #4 - Deep Dive*
Dive #5 - Activity Dive - Choice of dive; photo; video; metal detecting;
Dive #6 - Activity Dive - lobstering (in season only); Spearfishing; exploring; lifting;
