It contains of the History of Marathon; the origination and true meaning of its name...and how it is synonymous with the Manatee. It has 100+ pictures of underwater treasure never seen before with names and locations of many wrecks. It has pictures of Marathon's Primary Reef structures and G.P.S numbers with Differential correction to 12 feet. It covers the plight of the early Spanish and the contemporary salvagers and also the most recent case of the famous treasure hunter Mel Fisher. The Course: This course is a 3 day Introductory Program, offered the first week of every month. A total of 20 hours is spent in classroom and open-water training. Description:
Bonified Exploration! Learn about the Anatomy of   Shipwrecks, and how to locate shipwreck material, through the use of Magnetometers, GPS (Global Positioning Systems), Underwater Metal Detectors, etc. Also learn about effects of weather, Surveys, Relic excavation, Identification, Deterioration, Preservation Data Records, etc. This program encompasses the Search of Long Lost Ghost Ships and is also designed for those that have an interest in underwater exploration, discovery and archaeology. This course covers everything from purpose to procedures and is a hands-on   participation program. This Program provides the necessary training that enables you to properly assist a project director in the field.
The Anatomy of ship Wrecks....

Purpose of exploration ...is it impulse for adventure and discovery?, or is it for fact finding ?, or a search for proof and truth?
Tuition:
The Program coat is $395.00....Does not include Boat charters or any equipment rentals.

Prerequisites:
0. A Certified Diver, comfortable in the water

0. Verification of good physical condition
Equipment:
Full Scuba Gear is required, including u/water compass, time piece, small collecting bag, Dive Log...Underwater Metal Detectors are not a must.  If you own one, bring it. They can be rented or you may choose to follow and observe the techniques used to locate and pinpoint anomalies in limited area surveys.  We supply u/water buoy markers and marking flags. 35mm cameras and Video are not required but are an added plus in proper U/Water Date Recording.  For those interested in learning U/Water Photography or U/Water Videography the 2 day course can be scheduled 2 days before the start date of the Search & Exploration Program... Hands on;
A bona-fide search for the remains of the wrecks of Coffins Patch and other sites putting into use all the techniques learned in the course. Upon completion you will receive the "Underwater Technical Explorer" certificate.

About the Instructors: Symbolism versus Substance! Certified versus Qualified! The Instructors of this program each have 10,000+ dives, have been involved salvaging with some of the leading salvagers in the country for the past 17 years, have found their own treasures, produced Television Shows and have written about the subject. These stated qualifying credentials are available upon request.
